Officially: Trade Review Act of 2025
The President would have to notify Congress within 48 hours of putting a new tax on imports and explain its impact on businesses and consumers. That tax would automatically expire after 60 days unless Congress passes a law to keep it. Congress could also vote to end it sooner at any time.
